Inspired by traditional Vietnamese cultural attire, such as the áo dài and áo yếm, LaViet explored how the Vietnamese diaspora evolved within fashion. Most of this collection was sourced by secondhand fabrics from major fashion houses in Vietnam to local clothing bins in the United States. Although designed in the U.S. by Camille Do, a first-generation Vietnamese American, specialized áo dài seamstresses from northern Virginia all the way to Vietnam came together to perfect these carefully crafted, intentional pieces.

Dedicated to her late paternal grandmother, Camille adorned the models with white orchids, symbolizing her grandmother’s favorite flowers in the Vietnamese mourning colors. Featuring The Pensive and The Serene, Camille bares the duality of her grief in the reflections of her memories and the peace she has arrived at. To pay respects to the past and honor the future of Vietnamese heritage fashion, this collection is named, "Goodbye: gặp lại sau," with the Vietnamese phrase translating to, "see you later."
